Drive into scenic St. Paul’s, an area favoured by the colonial powers because it is close to town but noticeably cooler. We take you to the enchanting garden at the historic Tower Estate. Once here you won’t want to leave… Hear the intriguing story of the Tower Estate. This heritage house, unmatched on the island, was built in 1913. Explore the period rooms and view the lovingly presented family heirlooms.
Visit two acres cultivated with tropical flowers, shrubs, spice and fruit trees, which are attractive to butterflies and an area dedicated to organically-grown vegetables and herbs. The flower beds have been designed to echo an English herbaceous border in a tropical setting. There are smaller beds devoted to bromeliads and dotted around are a number of flowering trees, e.g. flamboyant, king of flowers and the orchid tree, which flower at different times. Stroll among flowering vines – the beautiful, turquoise jade vine which blooms in February / March and the passionflower, garlic vine and Rangoon creeper.
Complete this delightful tour with a delicious array of afternoon snacks and blue tea made from home-grown flowers and herbs – the crowning glory of the visit.
